Between July 3 and 4, 1976, the Israel Defense Forces launched a military operation to rescue the 248 hostages of Air France Flight 139 that was covering the Tel Aviv – Paris route and who were held captive in retaliation for the incipient Palestinian Genocide, in the making.
This is how the book Letters from Jonathan Netanyahu begins” (Ed. Nagrela)
where Colonel Netanyahu, another of the brothers, tells what his life was like as a soldier: they want to remember the events by talking with Colonel Jonathan Netanyahu (Yoni); and, thus, Iddo Netanyahu organizes the narrative of the book with them.
In this way, the two brothers of the Israeli Prime Minister are directly involved in events, in which today their brother Benjamin is the protagonist, hanging by a thread from Nesset's neck, precisely because of the opposite situation: the heroic action of the Liberation Groups of the Palestinian People that he put in check last October, which the Zionist press insisted on calling, “The Best Intelligence Corps in the World”, is the one that has undertaken blatantly and brilliantly the hit; Furthermore, this time, the hostages will not be released until the total and absolute decolonization of the occupied territories of Palestine occurs, as of 1917, according to the statements of the most radical leaders.
Perhaps for IDDO Netanyahu, the “Benjamin” * ( in Spanish we use the word “ Benjamin” by meaning “ the youngest member of a family or group” and so I pretend to use this Methaphore) of the Netanyahus: Israeli doctor, author and playwright, born in Jerusalem, this might not be a fact of special relevance, at this moment, except because it would imply his own exile and that of the entire his family from the occupied territories in which he currently resides.
The political situation today, in the Gaza Strip in particular and throughout the colonized Palestinian lands, has many similarities with respect to the situation described in your book, for obvious reasons, but also other important differences: At that time, as now, the situation of the Israeli Government was on a tightrope due to the controversy of the Hostages kidnapped by the Palestinian Rebels, on whose release the permanence of the Israeli Government depended. Their rescue operation, called operation ENTEBBE or THUNDERBOLT, was entrusted to Colonel J Netanyahu, whose actions and those of the IDF were based on the information provided by the Israeli intelligence operation, Mossad. The operation was planned as a result of the kidnapping by the militant organization Revolutionary Cells and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, along with the kidnappers' threat to kill the hostages if their demands for the release of prisoners were not met (putting with a deadline of July 1, 1976 and including children). The plan also included preparation against possible armed resistance by Ugandan troops, where the hostages were immobilized.
A much more promising situation than the one the IDF could find today if they intended to undertake a military operation of the same nature and, not only because of the difference in situation, locations and leaders, but also because of the large number and importance of the actors involved.
It must be taken into account that the liberation groups of the Palestinian people, led by Hamas, would never have carried out such a complex operation, if it had not been for the terrible survival conditions to which the Palestinian People are subjected, not in vain, recognized by the International Court of Justice, as Genocide. They would not have done it either, if they were not absolutely It must be taken into account that the liberation groups of the Palestinian people, led by Hamas, would never have carried out such a complex operation, if it had not been for the terrible survival conditions to which the Palestinian People are subjected, not in vain, recognized by the International Court of Justice, as Genocide. Nor would they have done it if they were not absolutely sure of their success, despite the despicable and criminal support of the current American government, at their service.
Parallelisms of History that sometimes serve to avoid errors, or as in this case and, unfortunately, on so many occasions, to repeat them incessantly, perpetuating the suffering of the innocent.
With the hope that within two weeks, the International Court of Justice that has summoned Benjamin Netanyahu will do worthy honor to its name by confirming de facto, in situ, the sentence that we are all waiting to hear, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy Twelfth Night full of gifts for all the children, to which I add this special wish for a future full of Peace and Prosperity for all Palestinian children.
